Most of my work is experimental. I enjoy playing around with different types of surface and creating them in any way I can. These might be using wax, string, card, plaster; anything which will give an interesting finish. My work is mostly abstract and conceptual, although there will always be certain aspects from life which show where my ideas come from.

New works this year are my white paintings. These consist of plaster covered wood panels which I have then embossed or buried objects in. The subject is tracks and trails. They reflect some of the beautiful peaceful walks in and around the West Country. I have deliberately kept them white to invoke a feeling of peace and tranquillity.

As always I like to use and re-use materials which have already had a life. I am constantly recycling canvases and using off-cuts of plywood and other materials.

The biggest challenge in my work this year is the painting of local landscapes, especially along the Grand Western Canal which passes through my village.
