All my current work is inspired by the rural landscapes of Somerset. Through my work on Exmoor and now the Blackdown Hills I explore the landscape through a series of journeys recording everything around me. More recently, I have been taking my Portable Observatory to landscape locations recording all the wildlife and changes over the period of a day. All this research becomes the source material for my artworks.
Through workshops I take participants into the landscape to explore its special qualities. As their guide I point out features and wildlife along the route encouraging them to make their own discoveries. By developing their visual awareness and sense of discovery they form a better understanding of the landscapes around them.
